Cooper County Route O now open over Moniteau Creek

Contractor Completes Bridge Ahead of Schedule

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Moniteau Creek Bridge on Cooper County Route O is now open after a project to replace the deck of the bridge. Construction crews completed the rehabilitation project and were able to open the roadway to all traffic Friday, Aug. 23, 2024.

Crews from Haile Excavating Company Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route O on June 24, 2024, for this rehabilitation project. The supporting structures of the 58-year-old bridge built were in good condition, but the deck of the bridge – the driving surface – was in need of replacement.

The contractor was allowed to close the roadway up to 90 days to complete the project, but were able to open the bridge after only 59 days.
