In the wake of 9/11, when flights bound for the United States were abruptly diverted, the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, became an unexpected refuge for 7,000 stranded airline passengers. Overnight, the town’s population nearly doubled, but the residents rose to the occasion with extraordinary generosity, offering food, shelter, and compassion to their unexpected guests. Come From Away brings this remarkable true story to life with a heartfelt blend of humor and emotion, set to a stirring score inspired by folk and country music.
